The best way to leave someone behind, literally and figuratively is probably travel. The reasons of travel in this situation is fairly simple. Once you have experienced the initial burst of heartache, sadness and hatred, the final phase of self-loathing g feels the worst when confined to your room.  Stepping out of the door with a shattered heart weighing you down might seem an impossible task but once you can push yourself to do it, you will realize how truly liberating it is.  Here is the list of places you can visit to nurse that weary heart and hopefully come to the conclusion that you don’t have to treat it as the end of the world.

Sao Paulo :- At first glance, Sao Paulo might seem like the worst place to travel under any condition, let alone after a breakup. The traffic congestions make New York seem like a deserted island and dense smog that makes Beijing feel like the cleanest city in the world. But maybe there is a reason why none of the 20 million+ residents of the city never move out. The upside of visiting a city where people are literally stacked over each other amidst numerous skyscrapers is the unique culture that each one of them brings to it. And what it does is to give that perspective of how small we really are in the grand scheme of things, and maybe that person may not be that important as you thought to be.

Ibiza: - What better way to get over a bad decision other than being in the company of thousands of people who are really good at making bad decisions and even better, enjoy it. Ibiza is the party capital of the world where sleep is reserved for the weak and dancing is for anyone who feels he/she is good at it. Revelling amongst wild youngsters in parties that doesn’t start until midnight and go on till noon might just produce that magical hormone in your brain that says “Maybe it’s not so bad after all”

Costa Rica: -Maybe the best way to get over someone is fall in love all over again. Wake up to the sounds of the rainforests, shower with the monkeys, take a walk in the jungle with the sloths, and share your lunch with the macaws. When it’s time to bid goodbye, you would have named each and every one of them. An added benefit is that out in the jungles, you are likely to meet similar solitude seeking adventurous kinds instead of the syrupy honeymoon couples.  Drag your broken heart out of the canopy and face the outdoors with zeal – jump into a waterfall, ride a 4x4 across unpaved roads or zip line through lush jungle. At the end of the day, you just might leave with a feeling that the faces you met during the holiday trip is much more intriguing than the one you left behind.
