Microwave is one of the most common household inclusions in the recent times.  It is an excellent appliance for easy and fast cooking during every season. Unfortunately a dominant number of people still uses microwave for heating and re-heating food or heating coffee, melt butter or make popcorn. Well if you are going to invest you’re hard earned money on a microwave oven it is inevitable to make it work better.

Here three most awesome things that you can do with your microwave oven. All you need is a proper microwave cookware and an interesting recipe, rest all can be easily taken care of by your microwave oven:
  1. Poach eggs – A great idea and nutritious food to be hogged on when on a hurry! For instance this is the best and the easiest recipes to cook and satiate your appetite while running late to office or to satisfy the sudden craving during wee hours of the night.  Use your microwave to get that perfectly poached egg. To add some more value take some leftover greens or pasta and throw the freshly poached egg on top of it.
  2. Make a quick bowl of mac and cheese - Yes; it is indeed the easiest way to cook the pasta and the sauce in the microwave oven. You can have it ready in just 10 minutes.
  3. Cook Polenta – You don’t really need to make polenta a time consuming stove-top affair. You can easily make a quick bowl of breakfast or supper in your microwave oven.
  4. Make Potato Chips – Believe it or not microwaves are the best appliance and often better than stove tops as well to cook easy, crispy and yummy potato chips with no fat!
Toast nuts – Do you want to toast nuts without scorching them? Simple, microwave oven is your answer.

There are few foods that I could easily eat daily. I could even munch on them multiple times a day.  Cheese sandwiches with veg patties, pancakes, veg falafel to name a few, are the most palatable offerings that I love to gratify my urge of taste buds with.  McDonald’s veggie burger for instance is one such delicacy that my appetite yearn for. But nothing is higher in my list than homemade carrot halwa. I do miss my mom every time my taste bud and appetite crave for these heavenly delights in unfathomable harmony.

With winter all set to arrive and no hope for a trip back to Kolkata until December end I can’t thank enough my microwave oven and microwave bowls, for they served as my perfect tool and weapon to satisfy my occasional fit for deliciousness even while my mom was away at Kolkata. Surviving in Mumbai for a Bong like me isn’t quite a difficult one. The only glitch appears when you start to miss your mom and her home cooked meals. Hence, in order to keep my head on shoulder and feet at bay from tripping I have created my own small and sweet kitchen set up in my studio apartment and the most important accessories in there is the microwave oven and the perfect set of cookware for microwave.
With my kitchen perfectly accessorized I love to hit the floor very frequently to ease out the woes of regular errands and perils of worldly worries. Just like any detoxifying medication cooking serves me as the most relaxing exercise to keep my nerve in control. Hailing from Kolkata I am no less foody and I dare not kill the urge for the sake of unavailability. Instead I prefer to cook my meals myself and take pleasure in hogging them once they are out of microwave. Microwave allows me to cook almost everything, from rice to fish curry to halwa and I must admit I love to spend time in there cooking.  Indeed it is the most unusual stress buster that works the best for me.

So you watch her cook these awesomely delicious cakes every day! Nigella Lawson one of the most popular internationally acclaimed television personalities is an inspiration for many those who love and enjoy to cook food. Here are few tips on how to bake those perfect cakes just like Nigella Lawson does!
Avoid Using Cold Eggs
For baking the perfect cake it is not only important to bring the butter to the room temperature but it is just as important for eggs – otherwise the mixture won’t emulsify properly.
Measure the flour properly
Always ensure that you take proper measurement of flour in order to bake that perfect cake. Hence, spoon flour into a dry measuring cup and then sweep of the excess. This way you can ensure the perfect measurement of flour for a perfect cake.
Use pastry brush to grease pan properly
It is always better to brush the microwave cookware or pan with butter than using a butter paper. Simply swipe the brush over a tablespoon of butter and then onto the pan in which you will bake your cake.
Position the pan perfectly
Always remember that positioning your pan perfectly in the oven is as much important as much it is to ensure that you have all the ingredients for baking the cake. Place the pans as close as the center of the oven as possible. They shouldn’t touch the oven walls.
Rotate the pans during baking
Rotate the pans occasionally, this will ensure even baking. But for this you need to wait until the cake is properly set – about two-third on the way of baking time.
Cool cakes upside down

This is necessary to flatten out the tops.
