Also called cabbage roses, garden roses are in for weddings special events or any other kind of festivity that you might need for or just to give to someone you really love. These roses are very different from the regular rose due to its size, perfume scent and the style of its petals. You can find Garden Roses in an ample variety of colors and shapes.

In the past, garden roses used to be linked to high prices and a short vase life making them challenging to use for simple events. Now you can find garden roses very popular for centerpieces, wedding bouquets and any type of decoration that you can include in your events.  Furthermore, one can find these delicate roses in many colors and forms. They are cultivate in colors such as white, light pink, hot pink, cream, yellow, red, orange, and many more. Garden roses are highly used by florist when peonies are not available to make decorations for a wedding. Cabbage roses have a vase life of about 5-8 days depending on how you care for the rose and can be found throughout the  year.

Garden roses are delicate wedding flowers that need to be hydrated and if possible refrigerated to help prolong their vase life. You should avoid placing your garden roses in hot places or in direct sunlight. Be sure to always keep garden roses away from vegetables and fruits since ethylene gas can harm them.  If you are not able to refrigerate your roses, keep them in a separate room at a 45 F temperatures and always in water that need to be changed every 24 hours until they are ready to be used. Garden roses open fairly quickly but if the time of your event is getting closer and they are not fully bloomed, change the water to fresh warm water. This will help with the blooming  process. Be sure to treat garden roses in a very delicate manner. Avoid touching their petals since the oil from your skin can bruise them and tarnish their beautiful color.

DIY brides can use garden roses to make the beloved high centerpieces in which you can see their stems. You may choose to pair them with other wedding flowers like hydrangeas, lilies, peonies or simply add fillers or any greenery  that would create fullness, for example. You may also choose to add baby’s breath, eucalyptus flowers, dusty miller and many other florals.  You can coordinate with your florist or wholesale flower company the colors of your event and pick the garden roses that would suit your wedding best to bring out the best in your reception, wedding or event.
